But He said that he will be joining the club on January 2009. (We are looking forward to that Mike!)

Mike or Mek owns this 1963 German Metal. He purchased the bug only this year from one of the members of the Las Pinas based Kuba Klub. Mike said that upon seeing the bug he had second thoughts of taaking it home. Dust has settled and gave it that old dirty look. But since he is at the right place and at the right time- he took it home with him.

He got the bug with no accessories or whatsoever but Michael really want to make this bug a head turner so he went all the way in accessorizing Killua, what a name for a humble bug. Killua also had the chance to participate in the first TAAL Auto Show... and had the privelege to be with such sexy ladies...

sixty5bug's 1972 VW Double Cab

This is a story of an air-cooled VW nut who sometime in his life dreamt of owning such a rare specimen of German Metal.

Engr. Onin (sixty5bug) owned a 1968 Econo Beetle that was a total wreck in an accident last January 28, 2007. A week after he bought an unfinished '65 project beetle that he later used as his daily driver.

The bug bit him so bad that he later added a 1979 Champagen Edition VW Beetle (with missing original Twin Solex 34 Carbs) to his air-cooled garage. The idea of buying a bus was an ifluence of Paul Santos of South Side VW Club. Paul once said to Onin, "Dude, you now have 3 beetles. why not get a Bus the next time you buy another VW?". And the engineer agreed so a week after that conversation (a month after he bought the 1979 bug) he got himself a 1972 VW Kombi. But it never ends there. He still want to own a Double Cab Pick-Up (DC). He said in a family affair that he wants a DC because of all the VW shows he went, he never saw one. Or whenever he saw one... it's not for sale.

The search is on... he went to Nasugbu, Batangas and met a farmer/farm owner who used his 1972 DC as a slave in his dairy farm. The farm owner uses the DC to transport concrete culverts, goats, grass for feeding the goats, milk thubs and containers, etc. The sad part aside from being a "beast of burden" is that it is only parked outside the house and garage.

To make the story short... he convinced the farm owner to sell this thing of beauty to the Engineer. The farm owner before letting go of the DC said to Onin: "Take care of Ingrid". So this DC has a name which Onin now fondly calls it.
